Steps to install PrestaShop via FTP

Step 1: You can download the latest version of PrestaShop at http://www.prestashop.com/en/download.
Step 2: Using a Zip tool, extract the content of the archive to a known location on your hard-drive (such as on the Desktop again).
Step 3: Connect to your hosting space using your FTP client, by using the cPanel login details (if not, contact your host). Once connected, it is time to transfer the PrestaShop files from your computer to your server.
Step 4: Uploading can take several minutes, as PrestaShop uses more than 7500 files and almost 1000 folders. After a while, all of PrestaShop’s files and folders should be online. Great!
Step 5: Create a new Database using phpMyAdmin and Grant all previliges to the database user.
Step 6: To launch the installer, simply browse to PrestaShop’s location on your web server: the script will automatically detect that PrestaShop is not yet installed, and will take you to the auto-installer.
Step 7: Follow the instructions on each screen of the installer.
Step 8: Once the installation is done, change the “admin” folder for something unique to you, such as “4dmin-1537” or “MySecReT4dm1n”.
Write down the new name for your new “admin” folder, because from now on you will access your administration pages using this address!
Step 9: Installation is now complete.
