Step 1: Login to admin area
Step 2: Go to Site and then Global Configuration
Step 3: Select Site Settings.
Step 4: Pick the Yes value for the Site Offline radio button
Step 5: Fianlly save the change.
In this way you will be able to work on the web site after you enter your admin login details. It will not be visible for the users who do not have the corresponding access privileges.
